End of the road

I've heard and read many explanations for why Romney lost, I heard that it was part hurricane, part media scumbaggery, part lies, part Christie hugging someone, Romney didn't do this, someone in his campaign said that, war on women, the moderators, should have relented on abortion, didn't go after obama hard enough [that was me too] etc, etc.

Look, it doesn't matter, he could have done everything right and it's clear he'd still lose. I've heard some say that a few gains were made, democrats didn't get everything, triangulate this way, slither that way, reach out to women, bring in the lesbians, in four years time, something about widening a tent, etc, etc.

Part of it was obama, the guys still selling a sack of shit, but he's a tremendous salesman, but I personally believe that the hard truth is that the people don't want Conservatism. Small government, lower taxes, taking care of your own troubles, working and keeping more of what you worked for etc is just not good enough. We don't want the party to end. I know it's not everyone, but it's enough.

I had a bitter chuckle when I heard him waffling on about the founding fathers and what they wanted, sorry but the majority of Americans have decided that the constitution is just some irrelevant old scroll kept somewhere. The list of failures is long, obamacare shoved down their throats, 16 trillion and counting in debt, unemployment biting at every turn etc, etc, this was their last chance to take a stand, but no line was formed or held.

The excuses and reasons would only be valid if obama and Romney were new candidates. We have to accept that Americans have had 4 long years to make up their minds, 4 years later and they still did not reject it. The only conclusion is that they want more.

We cannot deny them, they should get what they want.

There's talk of - in four years time - sorry to burst the bubble folks, this was it, this was the last chance to turn back, to live within your means, to grow up, to return to sanity, return to true freedom and liberty. It's gone now, smoke into the wind. KG from Crusader Rabbit said it best - a priceless birthright, squandered and betrayed. Pity they don't even know what they've lost.

I feel so terribly sorry for those of you who know what you've lost. You know what you've lost, you know what your children will never have. My advice - teach them to survive and to fight when the need arises, the future is going to be a hard place, perhaps far sooner than any of us have imagined.

I don't know of any country that willingly embraced socialism and freedom killing big government and then turned back from it, especially one that has a 16 trillion dollar anvil around its neck and is still led by he who brought it on. The republicans can come back hard and fast in 4 years, the only thing they'll be able to do is run the socialist machine more efficiently. Sorry, it's a one way road going down the hill.

You will never be truly free again. From now on you'll only be fighting one losing battle after another, your speech will go, your guns will go, you will become subjects, just like the rest of us. It is always the fate of those who do not really want freedom and no longer understand it, they will be ruled as they wish.

Maybe I'm not seeing something, perhaps Americas founding fathers have thought of this, perhaps there is a way out, I don't see it though and I'm not betting on it.

On that sad note, it's time to close this place down, thank you for your support over the years. For taking the time, for fighting the good fight, it's been a hell of a ride, an honor and a privilege. I still hope to catch up with those of you who are still around.

I wish you well, may God bless you.

Well said, and sad but true.

Why are you shutting down?

Thank you for being one of America's best supporters. I do see one possible scenerio that is very radical and NOT something I want to see, but if the messiah (small letter m) let's Iran get the nuke, someday they WILL attack our biggest cities with them. Guess where most of the libturds and the low life scum that vote for them live? That, or an act of God is our only hope for salvation. Damn, I hate to even think about it. Maybe somebody will come up with a better answer.

If that bastard thinks he "inherited" a big mess his first time around, wait til it sinks in how much of a mess he "inherited" THIS TIME!

First I will miss your blog. Hope to still see you around. If not good luck and enjoy the extra time with your kid.

I have a tendency to disagree about the future. While I think you wrote a good essay and made some great points, I think the opposite could happen long term. Political leanings and social norms tend to go in cycles. I think Obama will make such a mess that he will usher in a new wave of conservatism.

This is not just wishful thinking. Evidence can be found in the Jimmy Carter administration. Carter f'ed the country up so much that it set the stage for Reagan and a center-right country that is still hanging on (barely) today.

I thought this was going to happen this year but Romney could not give the vision that Reagan did.

Romney lost because he was a RINO pushed on us by the Republicans. People were fed up and did not go vote. They were tired of having RINO after RINO pushed on them. My hubby finally broke down and voted, but he wasn't happy about it. Apparently people have drawn the line, no more votes for RINOS.

No, they have no idea of what they lost. Very dark and dangerous times are head. We will not have a chance to rebuild America. However, my friend, stay tuned. Freedom lovers will not lay down. It won't be easy and it won't be the same. But, by thinking outside of the box, but, we will find away to enjoy more freedom than you might think.

Stay tuned, MK.Freedom lovers need each other more now than ever before.

God bless you, friend!

I will never, never give up the fight. As a historian I know how history ebbs and flows. There is an ongoing struggle in this long protracted conflict and Obama's election was just a point in time---a marker that will be covered as the tide comes in and revealed only when it recedes. Tomorrow's victory will follow todays defeat. With me the glass is always, always half full. I know you must have read Thomas Paine "these are the times that try mens souls" written just before Washington crossed the Deleware to the victory at Trenton in that biting winter when he men had no shoes. One man's voice for victory is louder than a thousand who stand silent. It's never, never about the numbers but the resolve.

Matt Taibbi did a fine job of explaining why the Republican party as it is currently composed will never win another election.

"Similarly, the fact that so many Republicans this week think that all Hispanics care about is amnesty, all women want is abortions (and lots of them) and all teenagers want is to sit on their couches and smoke tons of weed legally, that tells you everything you need to know about the hopeless, anachronistic cluelessness of the modern Republican Party. A lot of these people, believe it or not, would respond positively, or at least with genuine curiosity, to the traditional conservative message of self-reliance and fiscal responsibility.

But modern Republicans will never be able to spread that message effectively, because they have so much of their own collective identity wrapped up in the belief that they're surrounded by free-loading, job-averse parasites who not only want to smoke weed and have recreational abortions all day long, but want hardworking white Christians like them to pay the tab. Their whole belief system, which is really an endless effort at congratulating themselves for how hard they work compared to everyone else (by the way, the average "illegal," as Rush calls them, does more real work in 24 hours than people like Rush and me do in a year), is inherently insulting to everyone outside the tent – and you can't win votes when you're calling people lazy, stoned moochers."

The best explanation I've heard was there were not enough people of integrity to elect a man of integrity; a sad commentary on the general make up of the United States of America. Morally bankrupt and headed down the toilet.

Thank you all for your comments.

I don’t see much point in blogging about the downfall of the west Silver. The point of no return has been passed, if those that need to wake up ever do wake up, it’ll be too late. I hate it and it pains me but it is what it is.

You’re most welcome AA and thank you to you and all the brave Americans who understood what this fight was about. And thank you for keeping us safe for so long. It’s forgotten by many now, but will soon be learned again painfully.

Thank you Carol. Yes, I won’t be blogging actively anymore, I’ll still be around on the internet, waiting, waiting for the spark of liberty. It will burn again, hopefully in my lifetime.

Read this and weep Chuck, it’s exactly what happens in Australia now and you’ve taken that first fatal step. I hope I’m dead wrong but I doubt it.

You’ll only get Rinos from now on Debbie, it’s what your country wants like the rest of us.

Thanks Always, I’ll come to visit when I can.

We need a new start COF, a new country from scratch. I hope it comes one day.

I also believe that the light of liberty will shine again Ron, freedom has faced worse and endured. It’s just that it’ll be someone else now, but I don’t know who.

Unfortunately it’ll bite us all Teresa, but I think a lot of us need a good painful bite, we’ve had it coming for a while now.

Forget the republicans ducky, you have the democrats, they'll save you, you’ll enjoy what they bring, they'll bring you lots of 'real' work, keep cheering your victory, greatest orator in the history of the universe, the healer, forward and all that.

Eventually it runs out TF, I read somewhere that your curious experiment usually only lasts about 200 years, it’s been a good run. We have the true God, ultimately it’s all that matters.

RWT, I will miss you immensely. I hope you come visit our blogs and comment from time to time, but I'll miss reading your posts.
Yes, things are very bad.

Look at Ducky's ridiculous idolatry of an article none of us even relate to...yet "that's republicans".......
This is what we're fighting...

I guess I could try to remain optimistic, but until America has an honest media again, there is no hope. NONE.

God bless you...you're a better American than half of this country is. xxx Z

You are correct. No matter what Romney said, it would not have mattered. There was no media coverage, except for the manufactured issues the Democrat bosses invented.

The economy nor Obama's incompetence was never discussed in the media. The Democrat Party bosses are really smart when it comes to making things up, and the media is really loyal when it comes to perpetuation those lies. They don't care.

On top of a crooked media, half the nation's population are not takers. It is over for the USA, unless we have a jarring, famine causing depression because of the Chief Idiot's policies.

Hi there, I'm not a regular reader, but I enjoyed stopping by now and again. I'm sorry that you feel like retiring your blog, but you need to do what is right for you.

My take on the US election is that it's a matter of the culture. Most people, if you start talking about that, start thinking one is a crazy religious zealot, but it's the truth, and no matter what happens, no matter if it seems like we are losing or not, we keep fighting.

Have you ever heard of the White Rose (Sophie Scholl, et al) They are always an inspiration to me, especially in times like these.

First, thank you for the H/T, MK.
Second...DAMN DAMN DAMN. We can't afford to lose a voice such as yours.
It's not over yet. No braindead welfare addict, no totalitarian asshole is going to decide the war's won, not while we still live and breathe.
Please, take a break and come back refreshed for the fight we still must have.
Your friends and comrades in this fight need you.

Thanks Infidel. I’ll be around, far less though. I just don’t see much point anymore.

Thank you Z, I will come from time to time.

Exactly Bob, unless there is some sort of major event, nothing will really change, the slow march to socialism will continue.

Indeed Bishop, there will be more of it. Let them have it, there’s a heavy price that comes with such idiocy, let them pay it.

Thank you Katja for coming by, it’s most appreciated.

Thanks KG and Gecko, I’ll still be around.

The Concept of 'Liberty & Justice For All' is Gone... like a puff of smoke in the wind.

Those that have ignored the fact-based evidence are the 95% Blacks that voted "skin" and the 71% of the spanish-speaking folks that believed the empty progressive promises from the gang-of thieves in Chicago.

Romney's Advisor's made an understandable error in picking Mitt's v.p. running mate, giving Obama his narrow victory.

A very classy and eloquent Florida Senator... Marco Rubio... would have given the "Latino" Voter a sokid reason to vote Republican...

A Landslide Win for Mitt Romney.
